• Baptism – Baptism is the primary sign of initiation into the family of God. In addition, we feel it is also initiation into the parish community. Therefore, baptisms are celebrated on the second and fourth weekends during any of our regular Mass times so the community may share in the proclamation of faith of your child. It is also an opportunity to remind the congregation of their own baptism and renewal of their Faith.
  • Because of the focus associated with the preparation for the Christmas & Easter Season, no baptisms will be celebrated during the Advent and Lenten Seasons. Pope John Paul II once stated “in the case of Baptism of children, efforts to catechize the parents and godparents should not be spared” (Ecclesia in America, 34). Baptism is such an exciting time for families. Your parish family of St. Boniface wants to join in that celebration! We also want you to fully understand the commitment you are making when deciding to baptize your children as Catholics. When having your child baptized at St. Boniface, parents (godparents are also encouraged) must attend a preparation class. In the case of preceding children, once the class has been taken, parents need not take it again for three years. Although not necessary, we encourage parents to take the class prior to the birth of their baby or once adoption arrangements are certain. When selecting Godparents for your child, at least one Godparent must be a confirmed, practicing Catholic. To register for your class, or for more information, please contact Pastoral Associate Cathy Smith at 262-628-2040 ext. 23 or e-mail csmith@stbonifacewi.org.
  • Eucharist - Eucharist is so much more than the holy bread and the holy cup shared; it is a holy moment – a saving action. This includes the sharing of the Word (Liturgy of the Word), offering of prayers and keeping alive the memory of Jesus by remembering the Last Supper (Liturgy of the Eucharist), concluding with the sharing the bread and wine, consecrated into the body and blood of Jesus Christ. This whole ritual and celebration is known as Mass. Since this is a ritual to be shared amongst our brothers and sisters in Christ, First Eucharist Masses are celebrated with the congregation at regular weekend Mass times during the Easter Season. We want children experiencing First Eucharist to have a complete understanding of what it is they are receiving, thus preparation for First Eucharist starts the year before they are to receive the sacrament.  Parents should have their children enrolled in Faith Formation classes by 1st grade. Those enrolled in the school will receive the class preparation as part of the school curriculum and attend the sacramental preparation activities along with the Faith Formation students.  Preparation continues into the 2nd grade with children receiving First Eucharist in the spring of their 2nd grade.  For more information on First Eucharist, or to enroll your child(ren) into our Faith Formation Program, please contact Beth Plestina, Early Childhood Minister, at 262-628-8143 or e-mail eplestina@stbonifacewi.org. Preparation to receive First Eucharist as an adult is part of our RCIA program.  More information on our RCIA (Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults) program can be found as part of our Faith Formation section.

  • Reconciliation – Reconciliation is the sacrament of forgiveness and starting over. Receiving this sacrament pardons us from our sins through the mercy of God and reconciles us with the Church community. First Reconciliation for children is part of the Faith Formation Curriculum. For others wishing to receive this sacrament, we offer the 1st Saturday of each month from 3:30 until 4:00, or by making an appointment with the Pastor.  During the year, additional reconciliation services may be scheduled; additional times will be published in the bulletin.  For more information on First Reconciliation, please contact Beth Plestina, Early Childhood Minister, at 262-628-8143 or eplestina@stbonifacewi.org; for more information on monthly reconciliation or to make an appointment, please contact Fr. Todd at fathertodd@stbonifacewi.org or 262-628-2040 ext. 25.

  • Confirmation – Confirmation is the sacrament of Christian maturity. In receiving the gift of the Holy Spirit, the baptized are enriched and strengthened in their witness to Christ. Those receiving this sacrament do so as young adults or older, at time in their life when they can freely and maturely make a commitment to their baptism and their faith. To fully understand the presence of the Holy Spirit in our journey, preparation is required for Confirmation. Please contact Rob Zoromski, Director of Faith Formation, at 262-628-8143 or rzoromski@stbonifacewi.org for more information or to register in the high school Faith Formation program or RCIA.

  • Marriage – The sacrament of Marriage is not just planning a wedding. It is planning and preparing for the union of two individuals, acknowledging God’s unconditional love and presence in their relationship. Couples are required to go through a marriage preparation process which includes the FOCCUS inventory and meeting with a parish FOCCUS couple, meetings with the Pastor of St. Boniface and with the Music Minister, Enrichment day or weekend sponsored through the Archdiocese. This preparation should be concluded no later than one month prior to the date of the wedding.

In accordance with the Wisconsin Catholic Council, couples are required to contact the parish a minimum of 6 months prior to the anticipated wedding date.  Because of the extensiveness of the preparation for the sacrament in respect to the preparations of a wedding, we at St. Boniface suggest contacting our Pastor sooner if possible.  At least one member of the couple must be a registered member of the parish for at least 6 months.  When inquiring about a date for your wedding, please keep in mind the sacrament of Marriage is not celebrated over Labor Day weekend due to our Fall Festival and also during the season of Lent.  For more information on Marriage or to set up your wedding date and preparation, please contact Fr. Todd at 262-628-2040 ext. 25 or fathertodd@stbonifacewi.org.

  • Anointing of the Sick – It was once thought the only people to receive the sacrament of Anointing were those terminally ill or as last rights. However, the Catholic Faith has put more emphasis on healing and recognizes that people suffering from illness or pain can benefit by receiving the sacrament as well. At St. Boniface, we celebrate Anointing of the Sick as a community three times a year (June, Oct, and Feb) after 4:30p.m Mass on Saturday and 8:30a.m. Mass on Sunday (please watch bulletin for dates). However, those having surgery, in the hospital or hospice, or the homebound can receive the sacrament upon availability of the parish priest simply by contacting the parish 262-628-2040.
  • Holy Orders- The sacrament of Holy Orders is received by those who devote their life to the Catholic Faith and Church through priesthood, brotherhood, sisterhood or as a deaconate. At St. Boniface, we are fortunate to have not only our Pastor, but we are also served in the parish by a Deacon, and also in the school by nuns. We strongly encourage those who are feeling a call to Holy Orders, whether it’s a small nudge, curiosity or a strong urge, to please contact Fr. Todd at 262-628-2040 ext. 25 or fathertodd@stbonifacewi.org and set up a conversation with him. Together with the Pastoral Staff, he will help nurture your journey where ever it takes you.
