Hello and WELCOME to ART! I am the luckiest teacher - ever- art is SO FANTASTICALLY FUN! My students are in one word - AMAZING! They are creative and inspiring; they teach me something new almost everyday! K5 through 8th grade students come to my room to learn all about famous artists, from classical artists to top trending street artists. Our projects involve all types of mediums, from clay to metal, wood, acrylic paints, oil pastels, watercolors, watercolor pencils, charcoal, chalk, and of course sharpies just to give ya'll a little sampling of our awesome supplies. In third grade students enter the Junior Docent Program at the Milwaukee Art Museum and graduate in a special art lovin' ceremony in Fifth Grade. We have Art Club throughout the year where we kick it up a notch and make a great BIG projects to take home.
I started substitute teaching 15 years ago at St. Boniface when my daughter was in 2nd grade at St. Boniface! For five years I taught St. Boniface 8th graders how to throw pots on the wheel and one year I taught pottery at DSHA high school as a guest artist. The past three years I have been living my dream job, teaching my favorite subject near and dear to my heart - ART - to the students who live in my heart. My students favorite "fun fact" about me is that I went to law school, and used to be an attorney before seeing the light, just like Wassily Kandinsky and Henri Matisse.
In my spare time I enjoy reading, running, visiting art galleries, thrift shopping for art supplies and spending time with family and friends.
St. Boniface hallways are Art Museum worthy, please come take a look!
